The Miami Dolphins have hired a new head coach, new general manager and a new assistant coach.
The team announced Monday that Jason Licht, the former Miami Heat assistant, was the new head man at its training facility in suburban Fort Lauderdale.
Licht had been the head coach of the Heat since April 2013, when he replaced Al Golden, who was fired the following spring after the team missed the playoffs for the third consecutive season.
He took over the team in October 2016, leading it to the league’s best record since the 1994-95 season.
He also led the team to the 2015 NBA championship.
Lich was an assistant coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat during his playing career.
